Empowering and Increasing Child and Youth Participation
Main Activities
Develop the capabilities of child and youth leaders in preventing and addressing Sexual Exploitation of Children (SEC), children's rights, violence, and child protection
Develop child and youth leaders' life skills, including self-esteem, leadership, critical thinking, refusal and negotiation skills, risk assessment, interpersonal interactions, and other related skills
Micro Projects and Peer-to-Peer activities in schools, homes, shelters, and communities
Study visits and knowledge exchange between child leaders
Support child leaders to participate in and organize events for children's voices on SEC issues, violence, children's rights, and other issues affecting children
Support children's participation in developing child-friendly versions of child protection policies
Outcomes
Child and youth leaders gain knowledge and skills to protect themselves from sexual exploitation
Child and youth leaders develop life skills in self-esteem, leadership, critical thinking, risk assessment, interpersonal interactions, and other related skills
Children and youth conceive, initiate, and implement SEC prevention activities on their own
Generate knowledge and best practices for leaders in implementing SEC prevention activities
Child and youth leaders have opportunities to express opinions and have platforms to reflect on problems, as well as provide policy recommendations and practices related to SEC issues, violence, children's rights, and other issues affecting children
Five shelters have child-friendly versions of child protection policies
